Plastic Moulds Apply to: Blood Oxygen Saturation Monitor Plastic Components


### 1. **Outer Casing / Housing:**

   - **Raw Material**: **ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)** or **Polycarbonate (PC)**
     - ABS is known for its strength and impact resistance, making it ideal for durable electronic housings.
     - Polycarbonate is often used when transparency is needed (for screens or display windows).

### 2. **Button(s) / Control Surfaces:**
   - **Function**: Provides user interaction with the device (e.g., power on/off, function buttons).
   - **Raw Material**: **Silicone Rubber** or **TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)**
     - Silicone is flexible and provides a tactile feel for buttons.
     - TPU offers a good balance of flexibility and durability.

### 3. **Finger Clip:**
   - **Function**: Holds the finger in place during measurement.
   - **Raw Material**: **Nylon** or **Polypropylene (PP)**
     - Nylon is lightweight and has high fatigue resistance, making it suitable for continuous use in spring-loaded mechanisms.
     - Polypropylene is a low-cost option that's also flexible and durable.

### 4. **Transparent Display Window:**
   - **Function**: Protects the display screen while allowing clear visibility of readings.
   - **Raw Material**: **Polycarbonate (PC)**
     - Polycarbonate is often used because it is shatter-resistant and provides excellent optical clarity.

### 5. **Internal Structural Components (Mounts, Battery Holders):**
   - **Function**: Holds internal components (sensors, PCB) in place.
   - **Raw Material**: **Polyamide (Nylon)** or **ABS**
     - These materials are chosen for their strength, precision molding ability, and thermal stability.

### 6. **Lens for LEDs and Sensors:**
   - **Function**: Directs and focuses light for the sensors (red and infrared LEDs).
   - **Raw Material**: **Acrylic (PMMA) or Polycarbonate (PC)**
     - Acrylic or polycarbonate lenses are used due to their clarity and optical properties, ensuring accurate light transmission and sensor functionality.
