Plastic Moulds Apply to: Power adapter Plastic parts


### 1. **Housing/Enclosure:**
   - **Function:** Protects internal components, provides insulation, and gives the adapter its external shape.
   - **Materials:** 
     - **ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene):** Commonly used for its toughness, impact resistance, and ease of molding.
     - **PC (Polycarbonate):** Used when additional strength, heat resistance, and flame retardancy are required.
     - **PC/ABS Blend:** Combines the strength of polycarbonate with the ease of processing ABS.

### 2. **Plug/Connector Housing:**
   - **Function:** Encases the metal prongs or connectors that plug into a wall outlet or device.
   - **Materials:** 
     - **Nylon (Polyamide):** Used for its strength, flexibility, and heat resistance.
     - **PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate):** Provides good electrical insulation, dimensional stability, and flame retardancy.

### 3. **Cable Strain Relief:**
   - **Function:** Protects the cable from bending or pulling, preventing damage at the junction with the housing.
   - **Materials:**
     - **TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane):** Known for its elasticity, flexibility, and abrasion resistance.
     - **PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride):** Commonly used for its cost-effectiveness and flexibility.

### 4. **Internal Support Structures:**
   - **Function:** Provides support and secures internal components such as the circuit board and transformer.
   - **Materials:**
     - **ABS:** Frequently used for its ease of molding and sufficient strength for internal components.
     - **POM (Polyoxymethylene or Acetal):** Sometimes used for its high stiffness and low friction.

### 5. **LED Light Diffuser (if applicable):**
   - **Function:** Diffuses light from an LED indicator, making it visible through the housing.
   - **Materials:**
     - **PC (Polycarbonate):** Chosen for its transparency, strength, and ability to diffuse light evenly.

### 6. **Button or Switch Housing (if applicable):**
   - **Function:** Encases the mechanism for any buttons or switches on the adapter.
   - **Materials:**
